Sub drop is the emotional, mental, or physical low that some submissives, bottoms, or receiving partners experience after an intense BDSM scene. It can feel like sadness, fatigue, irritability, emptiness, shakiness, vulnerability, or a delayed emotional crash once the stimulation has passed. Not everyone experiences sub drop, and it does not always appear immediately. But when it does happen, it is often best understood as a real post-scene comedown rather than as a sign that someone "handled the scene badly."

It can follow high intensity, but it does not require spectacle. Sometimes a scene that was emotionally significant or unexpectedly intimate leaves a bigger aftereffect than one that looked more dramatic from the outside.

If someone has sub drop, the scene must have gone wrong.

Not necessarily. A wanted, well-negotiated scene can still be followed by a difficult comedown. Sub drop is not proof of harm by itself; it is often part of how a nervous system metabolizes intense experience.
